I have had an interest in radio for many years, but never extended that interest into serious practice, apart from a brief period with legal CB, until now. In May 2008 I passed my UK foundation licence and shortly after purchased a Yaesu FT8800 to take the plunge from theory to practice.  The radio was soon complemented with a Yaesu FT 857D.

I am learning morse and hope to put that theory into practice as well as soon as I have mastered recieving all characters at a good speed. Here is my modest radio set-up as at May 2008:

At the end of August 2008 I passed my UK intermediate licence and my call sign is now 2E0EAK (Two Echo Zero Edward Allan Kissack)
